Why do we add visuals to reports?
I mean, our reports can still be meaningful even without pie or bar charts, lines or maps.

Why do we take on the extra stress of putting the insights drawn from data into visuals then?
The reason might be that it makes it digestible, appealing, relatable and easier to deal with.
Most top management team are not very numeric (apologies to every top management player who is😄🙏). Looking at loads of numbers could be tiring to them. So to effectively communicate, we use visuals.
We are attracted to what we see. Most times, pictures get more attention than texts and numbers. That's why you would hardly see any advert without a visual - picture, video etc.
In the visual, the colors are important. The colors pass on a message too.
So when we see a visual, we appreciate it more with colors.

How much visuals do you have of you?
How much color are adding to your life?
If you do not find life interesting anymore, then convert the texts (worries, disappointments, fights, etc) into visuals (anything that interests you). Add color to it (food, shopping, movie nights, games, etc) and you will see life becoming more interesting.
What can you see about yourself? What does your life visual look like? Is it interactive (with friends, family, colleagues etc) or does not stand alone on the dashboard of life.
Can't see any visuals of you?
Not to worry, speak to someone you trust. Get help.
In all you do, have a visual of you and let it be colorful.
